Job Description
Western Alliance Bank is seeking an IT Engineer II to support the Mortgage segment’s Business Intelligence operations. The role bridges production support and BI development to ensure system performance, issue resolution, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor scheduled jobs, ETL pipelines, and dashboards for failures or performance degradation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues using documented protocols and escalation workflows.
- Work with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure system uptime and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain SQL-based reports, dashboards, and data models using Power BI or similar tools.
- Enhance BI solutions for better scalability and usability.
- Participate in code reviews, test planning, and change documentation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to deliver actionable insights.
- Maintain documentation for data flows, lineage, and system interdependencies.
- Support audit and compliance reporting by ensuring data validation and traceability.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements in BI operations.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Application Support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of SQL (especially Transact-SQL) and troubleshooting experience.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
- Good command of MS Office, PowerPoint, Lucidchart, or Visio.
- Strong problem-solving skills with data analysis capabilities.
- Understanding of SDLC and ITIL-based support practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bonus: Knowledge of C#/.NET or any object-oriented programming.
