Job Description
As a Data Engineer at Optum, you will play a key role in supporting healthcare operations by developing and interpreting data reports, backend processes, and collaborating across teams. You’ll work with complex datasets to deliver meaningful insights to leadership and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain reports for clinical and operational teams
- Design and implement data models and backend data flows
- Collaborate with data integration teams for ETL and data sourcing
- Update and support production-level reports and processes
- Solve moderately complex analytical problems
Eligibility Criteria:
- 3+ years of experience with SQL and data analysis
- 3+ years of experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or MicroStrategy
- Comfortable with multiple data sets and data visualization for management
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Healthcare analytics experience is a plus
- Familiarity with CMS 5 Star, HEDIS, or Risk Adjustment is preferred
