Role Overview

In this role, you will be part of a mission-driven team focused on detecting and preventing malicious activity through advanced data science and machine learning. You will develop and maintain large-scale data sets, build cloud-based infrastructure, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integrity and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and optimize large-scale cloud-based data sets and pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to implement robust infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop dashboards in Power BI for monitoring protection systems.
  • Define business metrics and contribute to data visualization strategies.
  • Support governance, compliance, and data security initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer with a focus on cloud-based big data processing.
  • Experience with Apache Spark, Python, and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, analytics, and big data platforms.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft’s security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience for Master’s degree holders or 5+ years for Bachelor’s degree holders.
  • Experience in data governance, compliance, and security.
  • Proficiency in building tools and processing high-volume data sets.

Compensation & Benefits

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 – $199,000. In specific locations such as the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, the range is USD $131,400 – $215,400.
