The Department for Libraries and Archives is hiring a Data Analyst to serve as the state data coordinator for the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). This role focuses on collecting, analyzing, and publishing library-related data, supporting strategic decisions for public library services across Kentucky.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit annual Public Library Survey (PLS) to IMLS
  • Publish Kentucky’s Statistical Report of Public Libraries
  • Support libraries in understanding and submitting data
  • Conduct training sessions on data usage, library statistics, and tech
  • Evaluate library grant applications and monitor progress
  • Perform tax rate calculations for library districts
  • Ensure compliance with data confidentiality and security requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree OR associate degree in IT-related field OR certification in IT
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in IT data analysis
  • Master’s degree in computer science can substitute for 1 year of experience
  • Additional experience can substitute for education

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with library or public records data
  • Strong communication and training delivery skills
  • Proficiency in statistical reporting and analysis tools
