Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) is seeking a Data Analyst II to join our Data Strategy/Solution Design team. This hybrid role focuses on developing data standards, policies, and procedures while ensuring compliance, improving data quality, and supporting enterprise-wide data initiatives.

- Assist in the development of data standards, policies, and procedures.
- Support both short-term and long-term information architecture strategies.
- Conduct data audits and collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance.
- Work with data architects to design a unified customer view of information.
- Document and maintain data definitions, sources, and business usage.
- Contribute to the creation of a single-source enterprise data strategy.
- Perform data profiling and preventative procedures to improve data quality.
- Create data quality metrics and collaborate on access management.
- Participate in technical documentation and ensure consistency of data models.
- Analyze large datasets with SQL, design reports, and identify trends for decision-making.
- Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Provide training and coaching to stakeholders on BI tools and data usage.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- At least 3 years of IT experience in data analysis, data modeling, and relational DBMS design.
- Proficiency in SQL and analyzing complex datasets.
- Previous experience with healthcare data domains (preferred).
- Strong understanding of logical database design principles and data flow methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid knowledge of database design principles.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in creating data quality frameworks and metrics.
