Delta Air Lines is hiring for Data Engineer, Enterprise Data Services

Delta Air Lines connects the world by flying 180 million customers to 300+ destinations each year. Within the Engineering Analytics team, we build and deploy data science and machine learning models to support complex operations. We are seeking a Data Engineer to develop data pipelines, manage data ingestion and cleaning, and support application development with high-quality, reliable data.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • 3+ years’ experience working as a data engineer
  • Proficiency in SQL (CTE, window functions, temporal data)
  • Proficiency in Python and data-focused packages, e.g., Pandas, Numpy
  • Proficiency with software development tools such as Git, IDEs, Swagger, CI/CD
  • Experience building efficient, ETL/ELT processes using industry leading tools such as Informatica, Talend, Spark etc.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles
  • Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority
  • Working knowledge of data science/machine learning best practices and tools
  • Working knowledge of AWS cloud computing tools
  • Working knowledge of API Consumption preferred
  • Familiarity with nosql databases and distributed databases
  • Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
