
The Data Engineer 2 will deliver integrated Medicare Advantage risk adjustment solutions, leveraging data and technology to empower members and providers. This role focuses on building and maintaining scalable data processing architectures for In-Home Wellness Assessments (IHWA) and Provider Programs. The position is fully remote and operates on Eastern Time Zone business hours.

- Design and maintain modular code for automation, including SQL stored procedures and ETLs.
- Participate in pair programming sessions and code reviews of medium-scale work.
- Thoroughly test, document, and present technical details of solutions.
- Work with Python, SQL, and cloud-native platforms to build scalable architectures.
- Research and resolve data processing issues and software bugs.
- Transform data into insights that enhance member care and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with BI and software engineers to optimize code performance.
- Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of technical data engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of normalized relational data structures.
- Proficiency in SQL database design, optimization, and ETL development.
- Experience with modular and reusable code development.
- Understanding of star schema, snowflake schema, and modern data architecture principles.
- Hands-on experience with cloud ecosystems (ADLS/Databricks/ADF/ASA, Snowflake, etc.).
- Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Medicare Advantage Risk Adjustment programs (IHWA, Provider Programs).
- Familiarity with Humana’s internal systems and compliance standards.
