
ICF is seeking a Junior Databricks Engineer to support a major data migration initiative with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). You’ll help transition from a legacy Oracle system to a modern analytics platform, integrating dozens of data sources and thousands of reports. This position is pivotal to successful migration, pipeline development, and the implementation of robust data governance.

- Support data migration from legacy Oracle systems to Databricks.
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Spark, Python, and SQL.
- Assist in standing up and managing Unity Catalog for data governance.
- Perform QA/validation of migrated datasets and reports.
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure integration, performance, and reliability.
- Report to the Senior Data Engineer and contribute to cross-functional efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience with Databricks, Spark, Python, SQL, or Unity Catalog.
- Solid grasp of data engineering best practices and Agile ways of working.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Eligibility for federal clearance and ability to pass a background check.
- Experience with Oracle databases and Oracle Business Intelligence.
- Familiarity with government data systems and compliance requirements.
- Exposure to large-scale data migration projects.
- Understanding of Agile techniques such as User Stories, TDD, BDD, CI/CD, and automated testing.
